Táo mèo – hay còn gọi là quả chua chát/quả sơn tra, tên khoa học là docynia indica – 1 loài cây thuộc họ hoa hồng mọc hoang trên các sườn núi, ven suối ở độ cao trên 1000m của Việt Nam, Trung Quốc, Ấn Độ, Pakistan… Táo mèo có nhiều chất nhưng chủ đạo là: 2,76% Tanin (chất chát), 16,7% đường, 2,7% Axit hữu cơ.
